The design process began with a detailed understanding of the existing 38-year-old residence, its proportions, openings, roof forms and architectural character. The fundamental approach was transformation rather than replacement—retaining the existing structure wherever possible and introducing new elements selectively.

The façade was restructured around the principles of symmetry, hierarchy and classical proportion. The central entrance was established as the primary focus, with the introduction of 14 columns creating a strong rhythmic composition and a grand arrival experience.

Existing openings were carefully reframed and integrated into the new colonial vocabulary. Layered cornices, pediments, mouldings and wrought-iron detailing were introduced to provide depth, shadow and ornamentation without overwhelming the residence.

A predominantly white architectural palette was adopted to create visual continuity and emphasize the interplay of light and shadow.

The process was essentially one of layering, refinement and reinterpretation—allowing the familiar old house to evolve into a new identity while preserving its emotional connection to the family.
